zz Rhino-Sole Synthetic Plastic Leather ("The Sole of a Boot in a Tube") - vintage packaging (SOLD)
Rhino-Sole Synthetic Plastic Leather ("The Sole of a Boot in a Tube") - vintage packaging (SOLD)
A c.1930s-50s vintage metal tube of "Rhino-Sole Synthetic Plastic Leather" (a compound for use in repairing leather or rubber, advertised as "The Sole of a Boot in a Tube"), by Rhino-Sole Limited, West Croydon, Surrey, with pictorial trademark. (It appears that the trademark was first used in 1932, and that the company went into liquidation in 1971.)
The tube, which measures approximately 12.5 x 4.4 x 2.5cm (4.9 x 1.75 x 1in), is in poor condition, with much wrinkling and crinkling to the metal, together with disintegration in places, leaving holes large and small; the tube still contains most or all of the original contents, which have hardened with age. Please note that the contents are no longer usable, and therefore this item is offered for sale as a collectable or display piece only.
