[Elizabeth von Arnim] (published anonymously), "Elizabeth and Her German Garden" (London, Macmillan and Co., Limited; July 1909 reprint of the "Macmillan's 7d Series" edition first issued May 1909). Hardcover (blue-grey cloth boards with embossed decoration and gilt title to spine), 250pp plus frontispiece, title page and six-page publishers' catalogue, measuring approximately 10.8 x 16.2 x 1.9cm (4.25 x 6.4 x 0.75in). An Edwardian hardback edition of this much-loved semi-autobiographical novel, originally published in 1898.
 
No dustjacket; the cover is much discoloured (especially to the spine) and marked with considerable age wear including tearing and slight loss to the cloth of the spine and splitting to the hinges, creasing to the boards, wear to the edges and corners including considerable bumping, whilst the inside covers and endpapers are browned with age; the pages are discoloured with some marks including damp staining to a few edges, together with age wear including creases, edge and corner wear including a few nicks / very slight tears, and general reading wear, whilst the binding is somewhat weak in places.
