E. O. Gordon (with appendices by the Rev. John Griffith), "Prehistoric London: Its Mounds and Circles" (the first page gives a longer version of the title: "Prehistoric London: Its Mounds and Circles, Religion and Civilization; with Notes on their Scientific Application from Comparative Antiquity") (London, The Covenant Publishing Co., Ltd, 1925). Vintage hardback book (dark green cloth boards, black printed titles to front and spine with "broad arrow" symbol to front), 212pp plus title and contents pages and illustrations, measuring approximately 14.7 x 22.1 x 3.2cm (5.8 x 8.7 x 1.25in). Chapter I concerns "the Religion, Race, Language and Literature of pre-Christian Britain" (the religion being that of the ancient Druids); Chapter II concerns "the Open-air Sanctuaries of Comparative Antiquity and Places of National Assembly of Pre-Christian times in Britain"; Chapter III deals with the ancient kinship between Trojans and Britons, and describes how "the continuity of Druidic worship of the Most High" may be "traced in the national Gorsedds or Eisteddfods of Wales".
 
No dustjacket; there is some marking and possible discoloration to the cover together with age wear including a large dent (with slight tearing) to the top edge of the front board and other edge, corner and surface wear; the inside covers and endpapers are discoloured with foxing / brown staining and other marks, the front endpaper bearing the name of a previous owner in pencil and being marked to the corner where an old price has been erased; the pages are discoloured with tanning and some brown staining to the edges, foxing and other marks together with occasional creases and moderate edge and corner wear.
