"Design In Your Kitchen: Some Planning Notes" (Council of Industrial Design, late 1950s) - vintage booklet (SOLD)
"Design in your kitchen: Some planning notes" (London, Council of Industrial Design, n.d. but appears to be late 1950s and mentions a journal published in 1957). Vintage booklet, 12pp plus thin card covers, measuring approximately 20.5 x 25.4cm (8.05 x 10in). A scarce 1950s domestic interior design booklet by the organisation now known as the Design Council, with descriptions of two kitchens and two "kitchen corners" designed by Gordon and Ursula Bowyer (architects of the Sports Pavilion for the 1951 Festival of Britain) and Mrs Jo Patrick, "planned in consultation with The Council of Scientific Management in the Home".
The cover is discoloured with various marks together with some age wear including some short creases, bumping to edges and corners, tanning to some edges, and some small patches of surface damage to the back, whilst the pages are likewise discoloured with some slight marking and reading wear; the staples are rusty, and there is some adjacent rust staining. The booklet nevertheless remains complete and fully readable.
