Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II (1953) vintage commemorative pottery mug by Grindley (SOLD)
A 1950s vintage commemorative pottery mug by Grindley, in off-white glaze with colour transfer decoration, measuring approximately 8cm (3.15in) in height and 8cm (3.15in) in diameter at the top, produced to commemorate the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, June 2nd, 1953; the base bears the colour transfer "OFFICIAL DESIGN / BRITISH POTTERY MANUFACTURERS FEDERATION" Union Jack and garter mark together with the green printed "GRINDLEY / ENGLAND" crown and ship mark.
There is some age wear including surface scratches, some wear / imperfections to the transfers and slight marking; there are numerous manufacturing imperfections including spot marks and unevenness in the glaze and a few small lumps to the interior.
