Product description

The Stalag Mites - Leo Grex (1947) - vintage hardback fiction book - post-WW2 thriller

Leo Grex (a pen name of Leonard Gribble), "The Stalag Mites" (London etc., George G. Harrap and Company Ltd., 1947). Vintage hardback fiction book (red cloth boards) with incomplete original colour dustjacket, 216pp, measuring approximately 13 x 18.9 x 2.3cm (5.1 x 7.45 x 0.9in). A thriller set in the aftermath of World War 2, featuring ex-prisoners of war - described on the dustjacket as "A Novel of Violent Action in which ex-P.O.W.'s combat a new Nazi Challenge."

There is considerable loss to the dustjacket (including about four fifths of the spine and much of the front cover), the remainder being much worn, marked, faded and discoloured with tears, creases, bumping to edges and masking tape repairs to the reverse; the cover is patchily faded and discoloured with marks including some small damp stains together with edge wear including three small nibbles in the cloth to the upper edge of the back board, whilst some of the lettering from the dustjacket has left its ghostly image on the boards and spine; the inside covers and endpapers are marked and discoloured with areas of considerable browning, whilst the pages are discoloured and marked with foxing and damp stains to the edges, some edge and corner wear and some corner creases.
