Product description

The Observer's Book of Music - Freda Dinn (Observer's Book 16, 1953)

Freda Dinn, G.R.C.M., A.R.C.M., A.T.C.L. (illustrated by Paul Sharp, A.R.C.A., A.T.D.), "The Observer's Book of Music. Including Sections on: Sound; musical instruments; concert programme terms; composers. With numerous illustrations many of which are in colour" (The Observer's Pocket Series, no.16: London and New York, Frederick Warne & Co. Ltd., 1953, reprinted 1953). Vintage hardback information book (grey-buff cloth boards, red printed titles) with original pictorial dustwrapper, measuring approximately 9.5 x 14.5 x 2.2cm (3.75 x 5.7 x 0.85in). Vintage information book - essentially an amateur's guide to classical music.

The dustjacket is discoloured and marked with some fading and a small piece of old sticky tape attached to the front flap, together with age wear including scratches, indentations, creasing, bumping to edges and corners, and slight loss to the spine ends, although it has not been price-clipped; the cover is discoloured and marked (especially to the spine) with age wear including slight bumping to the edges and light creasing along the spine; the inside covers and  endpapers are discoloured with foxing, pencil and other marks; the pages are discoloured with foxing (mainly to the page edges) and other slight marks together with age wear including occasional creases and slight edge and corner wear, and there is some weakness to the binding in places. It nonetheless remains complete and fully readable, and would make a lovely addition to a collection of vintage Observer's Books.
