Product description

Royal Wedding (Charles and Diana, 1981) commemorative dinner plate by English Ironstone
An early 1980s commemorative pottery dinner plate by English Ironstone Tableware Limited, produced to commemorate the Royal Wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer (29 July 1981), with moulded floral pattern to border, in off-white glaze with underglaze brown printed design featuring large twin portraits, measuring approximately 24.7cm (9.7in) in diameter; the base bears a black printed stamp.
The printing is somewhat faulty, the inscription and border (incorporating floral emblems) having a conspicuous "shadow", whilst there are various other manufacturing imperfections including numerous fine glazed-over fault lines to the moulded border, some roughness to the rim, and unevenness to the glaze (especially to the underside) with some tiny spot marks, bumps and pockmarks; there is some age wear including scratching and abrasion to the surface (again, mainly to the underside).
