Product description

Player's Navy Cut - vintage tobacco / cigarette box panel (trimmed, in later frame)
A large c.1930s-50s vintage "Player's Navy Cut" cardboard box panel (originally part of a large box which would have held a very large quantity of cigarettes or tobacco for transport or warehousing), with the famous lifebelt and sailor trade mark printed in red and two shades of blue to the centre, trimmed to two sides and mounted in a modern dark wood-effect and gilt frame. The frame measures approximately 30.5 x 38.2 x 1.4cm (12 x 15.05 x 0.55in); the panel measures approximately 27.7 x 35.5cm (10.9 x 14in), of which approximately 21.8 x 29.3cm (8.6 x 11.55in) is visible, whilst the lifebelt is approximately 16.3cm (6.4in) in diameter.
The visible area of the panel is in reasonably good condition with some age wear including scratches, scuffs and marks, whilst there is some wear to the hidden areas including staple holes to two sides; there is moderate wear to the frame including scratches, scuffs and small indentations.
