"The Devonshire Association for the Advancement of Science, Literature and Art. Parochial Histories of Devonshire No.1: Okehampton", compiled by Dr. Edward H. Young, c.1931 (the list of Mayors given within goes up to 1930). A scarce vintage softcover local history publication, measuring approximately 15.7 x 24.5cm (6.2 x 9.65in), and comprising 81 pages plus black and white photographic illustrations and two fold-out maps, one of Okehampton Castle, the other a large detailed map of the district (not shown).

The book is in poor condition - the cover is detached, tatty, torn and discoloured, and there is some marking, slight yellowing, creasing and general age wear to the pages, whilst both maps are torn, marked and worn along the folds - although it remains complete and readable.

Also included are a map and brief history of Okehampton Castle printed on card, dated 1914 by the artist (torn, marked, creased and discoloured) and a cutting relating to Okehampton and its industry from the Western Morning News, June 15, 1967 (somewhat yellowed with age).
