Making Things with Patricia Driscoll - Edward Andrewes (ed.) (1958) - vintage book

Edward Andrewes (ed.), "Making Things with Patricia Driscoll, of B.B.C. "Picture Book" Fame" (London etc., George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd, 1958, first edition). Hardcover (matt paper-covered boards) with original matching dustwrapper, 64pp (unpaginated), measuring approximately 18.8 x 23.5 x 1cm (7.4 x 9.25 x 0.4in). A late 1950s vintage book of crafts for children (produced to tie in with a BBC children's television programme of that era, from the "Watch with Mother" cycle, which featured the actress also known for her roles in "Whirligig" and "The Adventures of Robin Hood"), with directions for making "a wonderful variety of playthings - boomerangs, indoor gardens, paper dancing dolls, matchbox furniture, walnut-shell boats, potato printing sets, finger-hole puppets, floating ducks, and so on," with black and white photos of the finished articles.

The dustjacket is discoloured and slightly marked with fading in places (especially to the spine) with considerable wear including tears, creases, scratches and indentations together with bumping and general wear to the edges and corners, and slight loss to the corners and spine ends, although it has not been price-clipped; the cover remains in comparatively good condition with small areas of discoloration, marking and fading (most noticeably to the top edges) together with slight wear including occasional small indentations, creasing adjacent to the spine, and some edge / corner wear; there is some discoloration and marking to the pages (and the inside covers), together with small patches of damage to the bottom edges throughout (where they have been stuck together in the past) and moderate general reading wear - although the book remains complete and fully legible throughout.
