Product description

Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II (1953) Gold State Coach commemorative cake decoration
An original early 1950s vintage commemorative plastic cake decoration with orange-gold metallic finish, produced as a souvenir of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II (June 2nd, 1953), moulded as a representation of the Gold State Coach (as used in the Coronation processions) with the words "ELIZABETH R. 1953 / CORONATION" beneath. The decoration has two mounting lugs or pegs to the base, to enable it to stand vertically upon the cake.
Although this genuine vintage piece shows some signs of age (see condition description below), it would nonetheless make an interesting addition to a collection of Coronation commemoratives or British royal memorabilia.
