Vintage wooden biscuit barrel with pottery liner and chrome lid, c.1930s

A c.1930s vintage biscuit barrel, in varnished wood with fixed pottery liner and chrome lid and trim, measuring approximately 15.5cm (6.1in) in height (excluding lid) and 14.6cm (5.75in) in diameter at the base.  There is some wear to the external surface, whilst one of the glued joints between the wooden sections has come unstuck, leaving a slight gap, and another joint is partly unstuck.  The chrome of the lid and trim is pitted, and that of the handle is worn, as is that of the word "Biscuits" attached to the side, from which the first "i" has broken off; the liner is finely crazed and slightly marked.
