A c.1950s-60s sommerso glass dish or large ashtray with controlled bubble pattern, probably Murano although reminiscent of Whitefriars in appearance. In pale amber with reddish-brown edges and small clear areas to the outer recesses, it varies in diameter between about 14.5-16cm, and is approximately 4.5cm high. It has some small air bubbles which do not form part of the controlled bubble pattern, and some large bubbles open to the outer edge, amongst other manufacturing irregularities. There is some wear and scratching to the foot, together with some other surface scratches, mostly to the exterior.
