Vintage serpentine stone and brass table lamp base

A vintage table lamp base (age uncertain - perhaps 1960s-70s) with brass stem and round chunky serpentine stone base (greenish in colour with some red-grey veining), measuring approximately 24.6cm (9.7in) in height and 12.8cm (5.05in) in diameter at the base.  The lamp has been recently rewired with new flex (approximately 2.6m / 8.5ft), earthed switched brass BC lampholder and UK plug.  There is some age wear including scratches, scuffs and chips to the stone, tarnish and surface wear to the brass, and wear, marking and some insect damage to the green baize ring at the underside of the base.  Please note that, since this is a vintage lamp, it is unlikely to conform to current regulations, and it is therefore sold as a decorative item only.  We therefore recommend that this lamp is tested by a qualified electrician prior to use.
