A good example of a c.1940s vintage pendant lampshade / light shade, in pale amber or light brown glass of above average thickness, with frosted and clear sections and gilt decoration, and measuring approximately 13cm (5.1in) in height and 14cm (5.5in) in diameter. The lampholder hole is of standard size (approximately 2.9cm / 1.15in in diameter), and thus the shade should fit an ordinary UK plastic pendant lampholder. There is some nibbling around the lampholder hole (not visible when the shade is hung) together with a few tiny fleabites and very slight roughness (from manufacture) to the lower edge; there is slight to moderate wear and scratching to the gilding, together with some marks and slight scratching to the surface of the glass, which contains a few tiny air bubbles and other minor irregularities.
