A vintage pressed glass ashtray, probably dating from between the 1930s and the 1950s, measuring approximately 12.8cm (5.05in) in diameter at the base, with "THE NORTHERN ASSURANCE CO LTD" (the first and last letters of which are not quite complete, as may be seen in the photos) in frosted etched lettering to the outside surface. It is in good condition overall, with a few small manufacturing irregularities, a couple of tiny fleabites to the upper edges / corners and slight scratching, together with wear to the foot commensurate with the age of the piece.
