A c.1940s vintage glass lampshade / light shade, intended for use with a hanging chain, in clear glass with a frilled lower edge, several orange and white painted horizontal bands and an externally textured band around the widest part, with the original chrome-plated gallery hanging hook. The shade measures approximately 23cm (9.05in) tall including the gallery and hook, and 11.8cm (4.65in) in diameter at the base. Although the original chain, lampholder and ceiling hook are not included, suitable modern replacements can easily be found. There is some marking and slight wear to the painted banding, together with a few scratches to the glass; there is some shallow chipping and nibbling to the upper edges (which are concealed by the gallery when in use), and the glass itself contains many tiny air bubbles and other irregularities; the gallery hook has some rust spotting and pitting to the chrome finish, and some rust marks to the inside.
