A late 1940s or early 1950s vintage glass hanging bowl (or "flycatcher") lampshade / light shade, with white / pale pink opal finish to the interior and red textured floral pattern with black painted dots and gilt banding to the exterior, measuring approximately 27.5cm (10.85in) in diameter and 13cm (5.1in) deep excluding hooks. The shade is supplied with a set of chrome hooks and chains (which may or may not be original to this shade but are clearly of similar vintage), each chain measuring approximately 27cm (10.65in) in length. There is some age wear to the shade including slight scratching and scuffing to the exterior with considerable wear to the gilt, together with some wear to the internal finish (including a few spots and small patches of loss); there are some manufacturing imperfections in the glass including lines and numerous air bubbles, together with some small areas of the textured design where the pattern is either faint or incomplete; there is some rust to the chains, with varying degrees of rust to the hooks.
