A vintage ceramic bottle in the shape of a galleon, c.1950s, in gilt finish with painted decoration to one side, and complete with the original decorative cork stopper. The bottle, which measures approximately 16cm (6.3in) in height and 14.7 x 6cm (5.8 x 2.35in) at the base, has no maker's marks or brand name; it is possible that it originally contained a particular brand of alcoholic beverage. There are some small patches of loss to the finish, together with some roughness (dating from manufacture) to the edges of the base, and other small manufacturing and finishing irregularities.
