Vintage black painted pottery terrier dog figure / ornament, c.1930s-50s

A c.1930s-50s vintage hollow-moulded pottery figure / ornament of a seated terrier, with semi-matt black painted finish, measuring approximately 19cm (7.5in) in height and 7.4 x 13.2cm (2.9 x 5.2in) at the base (max).  The figure, which would have been sold cheaply when new, is not of good quality, having fingerprints and other variations in the surface texture together with numerous small lumps and bumps and the odd pinhole; there is considerable surface wear including numerous tiny spots of paint loss, and there is some ingrained dirt to the surface.
