A lovely late Victorian porcelain teapot stand, measuring approximately 16.9cm (6.65in) in diameter and 1.3cm (0.5in) deep, in white with a pattern of small blue and gilt flowers (probably to represent forget-me-nots) with raised central dots in the porcelain, red leaves and blue and gilt rim, and the motto "Love the giver" in fancy gilt lettering; the blue decoration is in the glaze, whilst the red leaves are transfer-printed. To the base is a deep brown printed "MADE IN GERMANY" stamp together with a small red painted "4". There is considerable wear to the gilt rim, although the gilt motto is in good condition; there is some wear to the transfer-printed red leaves, together with some light scratching and age wear to the upper surface, and some age wear and marking to the foot; there is some chipping to a few of the raised central dots of the flowers, although this can only be seen upon close inspection, and therefore does not detract from the appearance of the piece. There are some minor manufacturing irregularities including some unevenness to the edge, spot marks within the glaze and the occasional small unglazed patch.
