A late Victorian or Edwardian pottery ornament in the form of an open dark green bag with gilt decoration, with a white kitten (which has the appearance of china) peeping out over the front, measuring approximately 7.9cm (3.1in) tall, 9cm (3.55in) wide and 4.2cm (1.65in) deep. The unglazed base of the bag bears an impressed shield mark together with the number "3757"; the green colour is in the clay itself. There is a small chip to one corner of the base; the gilt decoration is very worn, and there are a few slight scratches. There are various manufacturing imperfections including lumps, pinholes and spots in the glaze together with an unglazed patch at the back.
