A small Victorian card of "Brown, Davis & Halse's Patent Mandarin Silk", measuring approximately 5.6 x 3cm (2.2 x 1.2in), and stating that Her Majesty's Royal Letters Patent had been granted on March 25th, 1855; this card may have been produced some years later, but almost certainly before 1900. A fair amount of the original light green silk thread is still present, although discoloured with some fading; the card is discoloured and slightly marked with one corner missing and another cut and creased.
