"United Methodist Church, Porthleven" (Cornwall) saucer by Phoenix English China (SOLD)

An early to mid-20th century china saucer, measuring approximately 14.1cm (5.55in) in diameter, in white glaze with gilt rim and black garter transfer incorporating the words "UNITED METHODIST CHURCH / PORTHLEVEN" (Porthleven is a fishing harbour on the south west coast of Cornwall, near Helston); the base bears the printed stamp "PHOENIX / ENGLISH / CHINA".  There is some general age wear including scratches and slight marks to the surface, together with moderate wear to the gilt rim and some slight rough / unglazed patches to the edge.
