"The Big Budget for Boys" (London and Glasgow, Blackie & Son Limited, c.1930s).  Boys' story book with pictorial board covers and spine, approximately 190pp plus occasional black and white plates and colour frontispiece ("Midnight Terror"), measuring approximately 18.3 x 23.7 x 5.4cm (7.2 x 9.35 x 2.15in).  This book, with covers and spine attractively printed with a river scene with five boys and a rowing boat (one of the boys wearing  a striped blazer and cooking sausages on an open fire), contains stories by various authors including "A Race with Death" by J. W. Ellis and "Trapped" by Percy F. Westerman, plus occasional black and white illustrations.  No dustjacket; the cover is discoloured and marked with age wear including deep scratches to the front, bumping to corners, and creasing and fading to the spine; the front endpaper is indented and slightly marked to one corner where an old pencilled price has been rubbed out; the pages are slightly yellowed with slight to moderate foxing in places and other occasional marks.
