"Stranded in the country with his faithful Benny Bannister, Tiger Standish is compelled to stay the night at a West Sussex guest house, where he finds himself caught up in a local mystery connected with the disappearance of three villagers. His curiosity, and his investigations, lead him to the Old Manor, owned by the fabulously wealthy Miss Constant Trelawney, the woman of the title. The Lady with the Limp turns out to be the leader of a surviving band of Fascist enthusiasts, as fanatical as any dyed-in-the-blood Nazis..." The dustjacket is worn with marking, discoloration, tearing, creasing, indentations, edge wear and some paper loss to edges and corners; the cover has a blotchy appearance with discoloration and fading to edges together with wear and bumping to the corners and edges; the front endpaper bears an original inscription in blue-green ink; there is some discoloration to the pages with marks including slight foxing to edges, slight edge wear, bumping and creasing to corners, other creases and occasional edge tears.
