A small Italian pottery vase, probably 1950s-60s, measuring approximately 8.1cm (3.2in) tall and 4.7cm (1.85in) in diameter at the top, in shiny white glaze with an abstract handpainted pattern in deep reddish-pink, black and turquoise; the base bears a handpainted number with the word "ITALY" (which denotes that the piece was intended for the non-domestic market). The vase is in good condition apart from very slight surface wear, although (as befits the handmade character of the piece) it will be found to wobble slightly when placed on a flat surface, and there are various irregularities in the decoration (including smudges) and minor irregularities in the moulding.
