Simpson's Glycerine & Blackcurrant Throat Pastilles tin, c.1940s

A "Simpson's Glycerine & Blackcurrant Flavoured Throat Pastilles" tin (empty) with hinged lid, c.1940s, measuring approximately 8 x 6.8 x 1.5cm (3.15 x 2.7 x 0.6in), in bare metal with labels to lid and base.  The metal surface is heavily tarnished inside and out, and there is some white residue to the interior resulting from the tin's after-use as a receptacle for tailor's chalk, whilst there are a few marks and some tiny rust patches; the labels are considerably worn and stained.
