A vintage pottery urn vase or planter by Shorter and Son, c.1930s-50s, measuring approximately 18.3cm (7.2in) in height, 12.8cm (5.05in) in diameter at the top, and 8.5 x 8.5cm (3.35 x 3.35in) at the base, and finished in semi-matt white glaze. To the base is the blue printed stamp "SHORTER & SON LTD / STOKE-ON-TRENT, / ENGLAND.", together with the impressed number "446". There are some slight irregularities in the moulding, together with some crazing (only visible upon close inspection), rust and other marks and scratches to the interior, and slight marking and scratching to the exterior; there is also a crack around one of the joints of one handle, with some associated chipping, although the other joint of the same handle is unaffected.
