A set of three Czechoslovakian pottery vases of c.1920s vintage, consisting of two column vases and one round vase with twin dragon-shaped handles, each decorated with a colourful transfer-printed (although at first glance apparently hand-painted) floral design on a graduated off-white, yellow and deep orange-brown background with gold trim (very much worn and darkened with age) and off-white interior, and marked to the base with the circular red printed mark "Made in Czecho-Slovakia" (in varying degrees of legibility) together with printed letter and impressed number marks. The column vases each measure approximately 13.7cm (5.4in) in height and 8.9cm (3.5in) in diameter at the top, whilst the round vase measures approximately 10.3cm (4.05in) in height and 14cm (5.5in) across (both measurements including handles). The vases, which would have been sold cheaply when new, are of fairly poor quality with some irregularities in shape and various imperfections in the glaze and decoration, one column vase having a thin vertical fault line below the glaze which extends down both sides of the exterior and across the base, whilst there is a chip to the base edge of the round vase which clearly dates from manufacture as it is covered by the decorative finish; there are some cracks in the glaze of all three vases, together with age wear including scratching, abrasion and marking to the surfaces, wear to the decoration and (as already mentioned) considerable darkening and wear to the gold trim.
