Sendy's Diary for Seamen, Antwerp 1936. An advertising pocket diary issued with the compliments of The New Marine Bonded Stores (Sendy & Young), 19, Quai Jordaens, Antwerp, and containing various information including a Tide Table for Antwerp and details of Antwerp Port and Harbour, as well as advertisements for various brands of alcohol, tobacco, etc. which were on sale at the New Marine Bonded Stores, and for other businesses in Antwerp. Measuring approximately 7 x 10.7cm (2.75 x 4.2in), this diary has not been used or written in; it was found in a large box, containing mostly sheet music, which had belonged to the family of a merchant seaman. This box had, however, been stored in a damp place, and the cover of the diary had developed a white bloom, which, however, has wiped off completely. The gilt lettering to the front cover has faded, and there are a couple of dents to the edge; internally, the pages have yellowed and there are occasional slight creases, but the condition is otherwise good.
