A guide book entitled "Sedbergh, Garsdale and Dent, In the Yorkshire Dales National Park", second edition, 1967, printed by Reed's Limited, Penrith, Cumberland. The softcover book, which measures approximately 12.5 x 18.3cm (4.9 x 7.2in), contains 67 pages plus several black and white photograph plate illustrations, several pages of advertisements for local businesses, and a fold-out map. Also included are a colour postcard of the Quaker Meeting House, Sedbergh (approximately 14.5 x 9.8cm / 5.7 x 3.85in), and two cuttings relating to Sedbergh and district from unnamed magazines (one of them probably the Dalesman). The book has age wear to the cover, marks and discoloration to the pages, bumping and slight creasing; the original owner's name is written on both sides of the front cover and on the first (photograph) page, and there are some annotations in pencil (mostly to maps). The postcard has slight edge wear and some indentations to one side probably caused by paper clips; the cuttings have been written on and (as might be expected) are marked and discoloured with some ragged edges.
