A c.1950s-60s vintage West German pottery vase by Scheurich, measuring approximately 28.6cm (11.25in) in height and 9.9cm (3.9in) in diameter at its widest, in shiny white glaze both inside and out (the external glaze having a blobby texture with the natural bisque colour showing through the gaps) with abstract motif in black, dark bluish-green, red and yellow; the base bears the original gold foil "Scheurich" label, together with the pattern number "520 / 28" and the words "W GERMANY" in somewhat indistinct raised letters. There is a horizontal crack about 2.4cm (0.95in) in overall length to the inside edge of the opening, together with slight age wear including scratching and abrasion to the surface, marking and wear to the foot, and age discoloration to other unglazed areas (especially around the opening), and there is some wear to the label; the interior is crazed throughout, whilst there is some less noticeable crazing to much of the exterior; there are various manufacturing imperfections visible to the interior including some short fault lines, lumps, bumps and numerous pinholes (any imperfections to the exterior are not so obvious, in effect forming part of the finish owing to the nature of the piece).
