Davies, M.B.E., M.A., C.F., "In Spite of Dungeons: The Experiences as a Prisoner-of-War in North Korea of the Chaplain to the First Battalion, the Gloucestershire Regiment" (London, Hodder and Stoughton, 1954).  Hardcover (dark red cloth boards, gilt title to spine) with original dustjacket, 160pp plus frontispiece and 20 illustrations, measuring approximately 13.7 x 19.7 x 2.5cm (5.4 x 7.75 x 1in).  In this book relating to the Korean War, "The sole military chaplain to survive the ordeal of captivity by Chinese Communists tells the fantastic yet challenging story of life as a prisoner-of-war in North Korea."  The dustjacket is discoloured with fading to the spine, marking and foxing together with age wear including bumping, creasing, indentations, tears, slight paper loss and wear to the edges and corners, and has been price-clipped to both flaps; there is slight wear, marking and fading to the boards; the inside covers and endpapers are marked, foxed and discoloured, whilst the pages are discoloured with foxing (mainly to edges) and other marks.
