This booklet, which would be a very useful source of inspiration to anyone wishing to produce their own handmade rugs to suit a 1930s-style decorative scheme, contains instructions and advice for making rugs using Patons Turkey Rug Wool or Gnome Rug and Embroidery Wool, charts for five rug and two mat designs, and depictions of numerous other rug designs which were then published by P&B as separate charts or stencilled canvases; some of these are wonderful Art Deco designs, others are more traditional, but all reflect the popular tastes of the era. The cover is very much discoloured and marked with age wear including creasing, bumping, slight tearing and slight surface loss to the front; there is considerable wear to the pages including bumping to corners, the odd crease and a few very slight edge tears, together with some discoloration and marking including slight damp staining; there is some rust to the staples.
