A typically 1950s vintage glass hanging bowl (or "flycatcher") lampshade / light shade, conical in shape with a central "nose", with matt white finish interspersed with clear thin criss-cross lines to the interior of the main body, textured surface to the inside of the "nose", and shiny exterior with red, black and yellow handpainted abstract motifs together with twin gilt bands, measuring approximately 27.5cm (10.85in) in diameter and 20.5cm (8.05in) deep excluding hooks. The shade is supplied with a set of three reproduction brass hooks; no chains are included, but suitable chains may be easily found at any good ironmonger's shop or DIY store. There is some age wear to the shade including scratching, abrasion and slight marking to the exterior together with slight wear to the gilt and painted decoration, and slight wear with some blotchiness, water stains and other marks to the internal finish, whilst there are several shallow chips together with some nibbling and roughness to the rim; there are some minor manufacturing imperfections in the glass including lines and numerous tiny air bubbles.
