A c.1960s vintage fluted glass lampshade with gently curved sides (perhaps originally from a ceiling or wall light, but also suitable for a pendant fitting), moulded in two layers (satin finish to exterior, opal interior), measuring approximately 15.3cm (6in) in height (including raised area around the lampholder hole) and 9cm (3.55in) in diameter at the base; the lampholder hole measures approximately 2.9cm (1.15in) in diameter, and thus should fit a standard UK plastic pendant lampholder. There is some age wear and slight marking (including the odd paint mark) to the surface, with a few tiny chips and some nibbling and roughness to the base edge and some chipping and nibbling around the lampholder hole (the latter not of course being visible when the shade is hung); there is considerable unevenness in the surface of the glass, together with other minor manufacturing imperfections.
