Renold Cycle Chain tin with original instruction leaflet, c.1930s

A "Renold Cycle Chain" tin, by The Renold and Coventry Chain Company Ltd, c.1930s, measuring approximately 16.9 x 9.1 x 1.4cm (6.65 x 3.6 x 0.55in); the lid is printed in cream / pale yellow and blue-grey and is embossed with the original price, whilst the base is printed with the original Conditions of Sale (British Isles) in black on a gilt background.  Although the tin no longer holds the original 1/2 x 1/8in 116-link chain, it still contains the original sixfold instruction leaflet, printed on thin translucent paper, which gives instructions in eighteen languages!  There is considerable wear and marking together with corrosion, rust spots and patches to the outside of the tin, whilst the interior is worn with marking and tarnish, and the edges are pushed out of shape in places; the instruction leaflet is worn, marked and very much discoloured.
