Raymond J. Billington, "The Liturgical Movement and Methodism" (London, Epworth Press, 1969; SBN 7162 00546).  Hardcover (plum cloth-effect textured boards, gilt title to spine) with original dustwrapper, 217pp plus title, contents and introductory pages, measuring approximately 14.7 x 22.3 x 2.7cm (5.8 x 8.8 x 1.05in); this copy is signed by the author (with dedication "To Jean", dated "83") in blue ballpoint to the front endpaper.  "What is the Liturgical Movement and what are its insights?  Are these in any way relevant to Methodism and the other free churches?  These are some of the questions considered by Ray Billington in a book which brings together the apparently opposing themes of liturgy and Free Churchmanship."  The dustjacket is discoloured to the white areas with scratches and indentations to the surface and slight bumping to the edges together with slight tanning to the inside; there is slight wear and fading to the upper and lower edges of the boards; the pages are discoloured with light foxing (mainly to the page edges and end pages), but are otherwise in good clean condition.
