A Player's Gold Leaf Navy Cut Cigarettes tin (empty) with hinged lid, probably dating from between 1900 and 1925, and measuring approximately 10.3 x 8 x 1.5cm (4.05 x 3.15 x 0.6in); the lifebelt design to the lid is slightly raised, and there is a monochrome printed design to the inside of the lid, whilst the edges are fairly sharp. There is much rust and corrosion to the surface throughout, together with considerable wear, scratching and loss to the printed design, and there are numerous dents and dings including a large dent to the bottom right of the lid; there are some spots of old varnish to the centre of the outside of the lid, together with a small amount of old sealing wax stuck to the inside lid edge.
