A very comprehensive reference book, published by the manufacturers of Pears Soap, with sections on "The Wider World" (events, Prominent People, Atlas, etc.), "Everyday Information" (Phrases and Abbreviations, Legal Notes, etc.) and "Home and Personal" (Family Affairs, Medicine, Housewifery, Gardening, Pets, etc.). No dustjacket; there is some discoloration and marking to the cover, with fading and brown marks to the spine together with general age wear including bumping to edges and corners; there is some discoloration and foxing to the inside covers and endpapers; the pages are discoloured with foxing (mainly to edges) and other occasional marks, together with some creases, bumping to edges and corners, and moderate reading wear in places.
