A pair of ornamental pottery jug vases moulded in a distinctively Victorian design, each measuring approximately 16cm (6.3in) in height and 5.7cm (2.25in) in diameter at the base, decorated in a grey-green, dark blueish-green and brown matt finish to the exterior with a glazed panel with transfer-printed rose design and gilt trim to one side, and glazed in white to the interior; the bases are stamped "1188" and bear a small red mark. Both vases have several chips to the base (generally more visible on the foot than on the part of the base that is visible when on display), and one has a couple of smallish chips to the top; both have slight crazing, occasional nibbles / fleabites and patches of loss to the surface finish.
