A pair of Victorian ornamental china basket vases, moulded in a fancy pattern with flowers and beads, in white with gilt and floral transfer decoration to one side only. Each vase measures approximately 13cm (5.1in) tall, 15.2cm (6in) long and 7.8cm (3.05in) wide, and is marked with a faint gilt number (which appears to be "37") to the base. There is some wear to the gilt (although many of the white patches in the gilded areas seem to be the result of incomplete original coverage rather than later wear) together with slight wear / inperfections to the transfers, whilst there are a few chips and nibbles; there are numerous manufacturing imperfections including inconsistencies in shape and various lumps, spot marks and pinholes in the glaze.
