Pair of old wood-backed brushes, one with inscription dated 1905

An interesting pair of old wood-backed brushes.  The smaller brush, which measures approximately 23.5cm (9.25in) in length, has straw-coloured bristles, and is stamped "W33 / BEST ENGLISH / FORT BRAND / MANUFACTURE / PURE BRISTLE".  The larger one (bristle span approximately 27cm / 10.65in at its longest) has black bristles, and is stamped "N18" on the side; interestingly, there is a handwritten pencil inscription to the back, which reads: "Margaret (?)Carroll / Her Brush April 25 / 1905".  Both brushes, unsurprisingly, have some age wear: each has some small chips to the wood, and there is a channel in the bristles of the smaller brush.  However, the bristles of both brushes are largely intact, and neither of them has any serious defects.
