A pair of large dark red mottled Art Deco Bakelite boxes, each having a domed lid with a stylised depiction of a heron in relief to the centre, and measuring approximately 15.3 x 17.9cm x 7.5cm (max height - about 6.7cm tall at edges). The boxes, which date from around the 1930s, have no identifying marks. One of the lids has a chip about 2cm long to the edge near the corner, and there are some other nibbles and indentations to the edges; the bases are somewhat scratched and scuffed, and there is slight to moderate age wear (including a few scratches) throughout; the sides are slightly concave when seen from above.
