Pair of Elkington Plate mustard pot holders from the Bay Hotel, Falmouth (1939)

A pair of electroplated octagonal mustard pot holders by Elkington & Co., engraved "BAY HOTEL / FALMOUTH" within a garter, and marked "36734 / ELKINGTON PLATE" to the base, together with the letter "D" within a shield (Elkington's date code for 1939).  One retains its original blue-green glass liner, albeit badly cracked and chipped.  The plating of both holders has worn through to the base metal in places, and both have general age wear and tarnish.  Each holder is approximately 3.6cm high (excluding liner), and 5.3cm in diameter at the base.
