A pair of pottery vases of c.1920s vintage, each measuring approximately 13.3cm (5.25in) in height and roughly 8.6cm (3.4in) in diameter at the top (the openings are not truly circular), decorated with transfer-printed Egyptian / Middle Eastern desert scenes with camels and their riders on a blue-green, yellow and white background with black rim and off-white interior; the unglazed bases each bear the circular brown printed mark "Made in Czecho-Slovakia" (although one mark is much fainter than the other). The vases are of rather poor quality, with numerous irregularities in shape and finish (one vase having a large glazed-over chip below the rim); there is some age wear including scratching to the surfaces and considerable age wear / marking to the bases, one of which has a small shallow chip which may or may not date from manufacture.
