A pair of c.1930s metal wall light brackets, with bronze finish to the exterior, for use with the popular Art Deco glass "shell" light shades. Each bracket measures approximately 26.9cm across and 18.5cm in height at the centre; as such, they are the right size for the most common variety of shell shade (the type that measure (in a straight line) approximately 25.8cm across at their widest and 20.9cm from top to bottom at the centre, and are marked "REG. No. 863,667" in relief to the inside base); both retain their original brass lampholders in good condition, together with the metal clips, nuts and bolts to hold the glass in place (although these are rusty). Both brackets have considerable rust spotting both inside and out, and considerable age wear to the finish including spots and splashes of paint, scratching and general age wear; one is slightly bumped to the knob at the base. They will therefore require refurbishment and refinishing or chroming (they would present an ideal opportunity for custom finishing in a non-standard colour without spoiling a pristine pair), and will also need to be earthed, perhaps by replacing the lampholders with new earthed metal ones. (We have three amber glass "shell" shades available to fit these, as well as a ceiling light frame, which is also in need of restoration.)
