A pair of c.1930s dressing table candlesticks in an octagonal Art Deco design, made of translucent shiny plastic in imitation of tortoiseshell with black stems (possibly cast phenolic / Catalin), each measuring approximately 8cm (3.15in) in height and 5.8cm (2.3in) across at the base (the bases are not quite regular in shape); the candle apertures are about 2.5cm (1in) in diameter. Both candlesticks have slight general age wear; one has cracks to each to the two uppermost sections, and the other has a small chip to the base edge. On one the base is loose, with the stem rotating freely and wobbling slightly upon the base; on the other a small piece of folded paper has been inserted around the base screw to prevent this.
